Spend two hours exploring brass embossing by creating ornaments to keep or give. Working with warm golden brass, you’ll make decorative hanging ornaments with designs that can celebrate the season or be enjoyed year-round.
Artist and jeweller Bramble Lee Pryde will guide you through the technique of repousse and embossing lines, patterns and textures, then cutting and finishing your pieces. Stencils and designs created by Bramble will be available to use, or you can design your own ideas and explore.
Workshop sizes are kept small, allowing time for demonstrations, experimentation and individual guidance.
Each participant receives a sheet of brass, enough to make approximately:
2 large multi-hung ornaments
4-6 mid-size ornaments
8-10 smaller-scale ornaments
Choose one approach or combine different pieces within your sheet. Quantities depend on the size of your designs.
Ribbon, thread and beads are provided to decorate and finish your work. By the end of the workshop, your pieces will be ready to hang or give as gifts.
